Local Information

Wildlife  is  a major feature of the area and with  Pine Marten making a comeback and the majestic Eagle  a regular sight.  When you open your curtains in the morning expect to see Red Deer roaming yards from your window.  

Sandy Beaches are in abundance, with the Atlantic only a 5 minute drive away, at Dorlin, Ardtoe, Glenuig, Sanna and The Singing Sands of Gorten, also the famous Silver Sands Of Morar.  

Hill Walking is  very popular with some 30+ walks of various abilities.  

Climbing (Ben Resipole, Ben Hiant etc) 

Sea Fishing  (Atlantic and Loch Sunart ) local boat hire is available.  

Fresh Water Fishing ( Loch Shiel, Various Hill Lochs etc. ) local boat hire also available.  Salmon leaping at the old Shiel bridge pool on the River Shiel is a sight never to be forgotten.  

Castle Tioram , Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, Ardnamurchan Natural History Centre,  Mallaig Fishing Port and Exhibition, Pony Trekking, Spinning Workhops, Local Crafts etc. etc. there is much to do.  Please see various weblinks below.    Och! perhaps you will just want to sit back and relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery and fresh air .............and why not  indeed.
